CWSRG joins Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to discuss cybersecurity priorities across the state

CWSRG Executive Director, Freddie Woolland, was invited by Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and representatives of the Indian Chamber of Commerce to offer reflections on key cybersecurity priorities and opportunities for the State.

Andhra Pradesh is developing at a rapid rate with a focus on new infrastructure projects including 6 new ports, and the establishment of the world's first renewably powered city in the smart city of Amaravati. These, alongside a recently announced 25Bn USD investment from US tech giant Google to create a data centre supported by a sub-sea cable, highlight Andhra Pradesh as one of the most exciting opportunities for technologists.

With that excitement - and a growing attack surface area - comes risk, and CWSRG was glad to offer its perspectives. Both the subsea cable and new ports present unique challenges in the digital/maritime nexus, an area of growing importance for Commonwealth business and governments alike. Similarly, as the Chief Minister commented upon, both AI and Quantum Computing offer new dimensions in digital and technology risk - dimensions that can be met by deeper and further Commonwealth cooperation.

CWSRG looks forward to building on its relations with the Chief Minister and his team, as well as bringing the substance of these engagements to a wider Commonwealth audience across the Commonwealth AI Risk Centre and our Digital Resilience focus area.
